Before Starting a Pressure Washing Business

If you make the decision to run your own pressure washing service it can be rewarding financially and equally important give you the freedom  to be your own boss. You will be offering a service that will always be in demand for both residential and commercial work.
Operating your own business will give you the freedom to work your own hours, hire employees and peace of mind knowing that you can determine how much money you will make instead of worrying about how much your boss makes your hourly wage.

However, as with starting any business you will have to be prepared to invest some capital to get started and have the patience and determination to overcome the learning curve. Most importantly you have to love what you do. If your heart is not in starting a pressure washing  business then chances are you will fail when any difficult times cross your path.

In most cases the first thing that fails when accomplishing something great is the human mind, not the body. The will power your mind creates will give you the motivation and energy your body needs to make your business a success.  

So how do you know if starting a pressure washing business is really the right business opportunity for you?  Having the ability to answer this question is one reason why I encourage people brand new to the business to start by getting some experience in the field. You would be amazed at how many people whom have never even touched a pressure washer, go out and spend thousands of dollars on new equipment and business supplies without even knowing how to operate a pressure washer.

I also encourage people in my guide to start by creating a solid business plan. Get a clue how much the overall business costs will be and what the demand is for pressure washing services in your local area. Will the demand be enough for you to work full time or will you be forced to work part time while offering other services with your new business?

There are many full time pressure washing companies, but there are also many companies that offer either mobile detailing, painting, carpet cleaning or wood restoration on top of doing pressure washing services.

I encourage you to read as much as possible about the business and learn as much as you can before you start. Arming yourself with the right knowledge will ultimately save you valuable time and money, and help you to get your new business off to a great start.
